Welcome to 4th grade!
Fourth grade is a year of intellectual growth and independence. In this grade, students continue to explore their environment, conduct research projects across curriculum, participate in science labs, sustain critical thinking discussions in flexible groups to solve mathematical problems, analyze scientific results, or study chapter books, all while practicing our Catholic faith. Our goal is to provide students with tools needed to become a positive and responsible citizen in a safe and secure learning environment.
Our teachers use Texas Wonders Reading Texts, Common Lit, chapter books, Sadlier Math, Get More Math, Elevate Science, Social Studies Weekly and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, to enhance planning and instruction. Science curriculum is supplemented with resources that support our standards, such as Mystery Science.
To enrich our fourth grade students conduct several science labs that develop prior knowledge or explore learning standards studied at the moment. In addition, they complete a Saint presentation for All Saints Day, and participate in our Wax Museum.
Our goal is to provide students with tools needed to become positive and responsible citizens in a safe and secure learning environment.
