The counseling office is here to help students with setting goals, working well with others, feeling good about themselves, adjusting to a new school, learning how to make decisions, managing their feelings (stress, worry, anger, etc.), working out friendship problems, dealing with peer pressure and bullying, and to listen to any other concerns students need to share. Even if a student is not sure if something weighing on them is something to talk with a counselor about, they are encouraged to talk to a counselor. If a counselor can't help or answer a question they can help your student find the person who can!
If your student needs to see a counselor for any reason your student can request a meeting by emailing them, ask a teacher to schedule an appointment for them, or you as parent/guardian may make a request on their behalf. Students are reminded that in an emergency it's always best to go directly to an adult they trust (teacher, parent, principal, other adult) to get them in touch with a counselor.
