Welcome to Kindergarten!
Our year is filled with lots of learning fun. Every student is encouraged to do their best each day as we learn many things together such as writing, letter recognition, beginning sounds, number recognition, counting, and shapes and colors too! Kindergartners continue to tune their fine motor and cutting skills with fun writing activities and art projects, all in a structured, yet well-balanced classroom. Each day of Kindergarten includes Chapel, Religion, English/Language Arts, and Math, but we also enjoy playing together at recess too! Students also learn and have fun in Science and Social Studies everyday. But let’s not forget our specials! Kinder students enjoy Art, Spanish, Physical Education and Music as well.
Curriculum is based on standards set by the Archdiocese of San Antonio and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. It is teacher-driven, allowing for creativity and flexibility in planning and presenting instruction. Some of our best learning comes from our curriculum and texts which include Texas Wonders by McGraw Hill, Progress in Mathematics by Sadlier, Finding God, Social Studies: Texas Studies Weekly, Science: Elevate Science.
I like working with the children, teaching them to read and helping them to become independent learners.
