My name is Sam Rygalski, and this is my family’s fourth year at St. Peter Prince of Apostles School. Our oldest daughter, Catherine, is in second grade this year, and our youngest, Caroline, is in first grade. I volunteered as a Homeroom Parent for three years, and this year will be my second year on the School Council. I am proud and humbled to serve as Vice President of the School Council this school year. My husband, Rich, and I appreciate everything St. Peter’s has done for our family. Our daughters are receiving an extraordinary education imbued with the spirit of servant leadership, and we are glad to serve and give back to our great school.
I am originally from San Antonio and grew up in the Judson ISD. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas State University and earned my commission as an Engineer Officer in the United States Army through its ROTC program. In addition to several military and civilian education and training certificates, I have a Master of Public Administration from Webster University and a Master of Policy Management from Georgetown University.
I served as an Army officer for twenty years during which time I had the honor of commanding soldiers in combat as well as deploying with a humanitarian assistance task force. For the latter part of my career, I focused on foreign policy and international security cooperation strategy. I served my final tour of duty in a U.S. embassy abroad and retired from the Army in 2016.
Rich and I are thankful to St. Peter’s for both cherishing and challenging our children. We are proud Tigers and look forward to our family’s future at St. Peter Prince of Apostles School.
