St. Peter Prince of Apostles School is a member of the Brainpower Connection, a circle of support, influence and collegiality established when five different institutions-- their faculties and students -- connect to share their brain power. Shared vision, shared faculties, and shared facilities help break down the walls that traditionally separate elementary schools, high schools, and universities.
UIW students offer after-school tutoring to St. Peter’s students in various subjects each semester.
Each year middle school science students conduct an impressive weather balloon launch under the direction of Science teacher Mrs. Lisa Tobias. In collaboration with UIW Meteorology Professor Gerry Mulvey and his students, data is collected, shared and analyzed.
Throughout the year, partnership with the UIW International Affairs office brings multicultural presentations to St. Peter’s by international students sharing information about their homelands. Students learn about culture, customs, geography and everyday life in various countries across the world.
Middle school students participate in field day activities led by UIW athletes. Students learn about physical fitness, health and nutrition while testing their own abilities.
This year through collaboration with Associate Professor of Teacher Education, Dr. Stephanie Grote-Garcia, UIW education students will assess second graders and use those assessments to design and perform individualized literacy interventions, helping Tiger students build on their strengths in reading.
